acceptance into rimyi

walking into the ramamani iyengar memorial institute had my heart pounding, walking down a street with gigantic huge trees, birds singin cool tunes, car exhaust, hopping across streets playing frogger. then, i see the sign....ramamani memorial institute! past the security guard, beautiful carvings on the wall of bks iyengar, shoes outside, shrines. i kept thinking "i cant believe i am here! " Nervous because i hope to get into classes upstairs, i really need yoga, so tight from traveling, need a routine. found pandu, the famous to me secretary, we shook hands, smiled. he asked me how long have i been doing yoga, isaid 8 plus years, showed him my paperwork from elizabeth as verification. (thank u to elizabeth), also said that i am friends with dean lerner whom i am meeting in pune. pandu wrote out my daily yoga schedule on a small paper... i'm in! lots of paperwork, good thing i brought an extra passport photo...100 dollars for a month of 6 days a week classes. then, another secretary told me from my emails to the center that i was not supposed to be able to take classes until august. when i emailed from the states, they said i couldnt come till august...i put on ,y nice face and said i couldnt come in august and pandu said ok, the other secretary showed me the old emails and i was scared he would not let me in...then he said ok! phew, close call!!! my class starts today, it is hot hot here, have to wear a t shirt which i am not used to. muscles like vise grips right now, excited for class. sunday is my only day off. i still plan to go to maher, its true, a month is not long in india.
ambience hotel rules. they laugh at me cause i put extra hot paste on all my food which americans must not usually do. food is super yummy, veggies and good spices. saw a mom feeding her baby a bottle while ridin the back of a motorcycle in insaine traffic, no hemets anywhere.quit drinking coffee withdraws. made a clothing line in bathroom, had to wash mumbai off.
good day, it will be scary and a thrill to sit before class starts today. aaron fleming, a certified iyengar teacher told me india is a ver scary, very amazing place, very true.
i cant publish photos till i get back cause this tablet is too flashy and my camera wont plug into it. speaking of flashy, i definatel have to cover up here, a shawl at all times. cant wear my hair down, i tried it and walked about a block and the stares were a sign, i stii have a faint touch of blonde at the ends, woman tie their hair back here, i need t blend in,not many americans, i think i have seen 3 besides me. this is more of a journal so i hope i dont bore you with my long writing, good thing to do as i  need lots of rest in between the wild whirl of india!

india first class

everyone has the glimmer ofhope they will someday be bumped to 1st class.that was me, always trying to beg my way with never any luck. my chances to get bumped up on ahjn international flight i knew was hopeless, was i wrong.  i felt glad to sit next to a dentist who lives in mumbai, he told me places to go, even offered a ride to my hotel so i didnt need to take a cab, we talked for about 30 minutes, he put a blanket over his lap.....i was reading..noticed he started straight up masterbating. not appropriate for such close quarters. i just hoped he would stop, nope. iwas stuck in the window seat. finally couldnt take it anymore and asked him to get up, he was frazzled trying to cover himself. i got help and they bumped me up to first class, full bed seats for 8 hours. the flight crew spoiled me rotten. no charges since it was my word vs his, creepy, definately shook me up.
getting into mumbai late at night, found a cab...scariest drive ever! tiny tin can cabs no seatbelts no road rules. no english.....just get me to my hotel. went in hotel, no english dark back room office...scray. then i swa my name in the book and knew i was ok.

woke up went to the gateway to india! travelers sunshine hot. i wanted to go to elephanta island, waves to big people yesterday were stuck there till midnight. then an english speaking local snaged me and offered me a car tour, i took him up on it..figured he needed work. in a movie phil and i watched said india is like a wave and not to fight it, so i went  in a tiny cab with the driver and mr. mike tour guide. we ate food, ginger veggie balls wih oily sauce,so far so good. went to gandi's house museum cool! had to stop and buy a shawl forgot mine to wear to go in temple. the shop owner was mad sine i walked out of the store 3 times not wanting to pay so much since i had one at hotel, good bargaining on my park. went to hanging gardens park, all was good but just being in a cab here is a ride in itself! bought some young kids (about 5 and6) a big bag of rice, they wanted more more more, i can put my teacher voice on and told them to be thankful for the rice.lots of beggars.they mostly ask for food. oh yeah, the temple had a god that was for vegetarians...or something. i said a prayer for my friend jennifer to find a teaching job. the cst train station is amazing!, beautiful building.tomorow i hope to take the train to pune....stay tuned, need lots of rest, india is quite the zing on the senses.love, kelly forgive the miss spellings and slang, im on a template....lucky to have internet!
